bah! to be honest i never cared for hollywood... a lot of them are arrogant snobs that think they got everything- and they're overpaid. and having them hold that little piece of paper in their hand does resemble arrogance, as if they are expecting to win. kinda low, in my opinion.

Actually I think it's reasonable for them to write down who they'd want to thank. I'd imagine if I were in their position I'd be so flustered I'd forget my own name, much less anyone else's

Not really sure. Speaking of the Emmy Awards, my friend's uncle won one for directing a film. I thought that was pretty awesome.
