Holiday Card Project 2012
It's back! With the goal of bringing a little cheer to patients in the hospital during the holiday season, the deviantART Holiday Card Project connects deviants from around the world and applies their tremendous artistic abilities in designing and creating uplifting holiday cards.
In past years, the Project has received more than 5,000 cards sent in by more than 1,000 deviants from 50 different countries/political regions. Cards were then divvied up and distributed in-person by deviantART members to local Los Angeles, CA hospitals, with additional cards given to various hospitals in the U.S. and abroad for hospital staff members to hand out to patients.
The idea behind the Holiday Card Project is simple: do something nice for others. However, if you're looking for even more incentive, every deviant who submits a card will be given a free one-month Premium Membership to deviantA

Comic-Con: Day 3Saturday kicked off Day 3 of Comic-Con, and the crowds poured onto the convention floor to start the weekend in Geek Style.
At noon, deviantART hosted our final panel: How to Supercharge Your deviantART Profile Like the Masters. Moderated by none other than our fearless ninja, Angelo (aka +spyed), we were honored to have the following superstars share their deviantART experiences with the crowd:

Comic-Con: Day 4On Sunday, the 4th and final day of San Diego Comic-Con, we were able to keep the love flowing to show the artists and art enthusiasts who came by our booth just how much they meant to us.
The last day of Comic-Con is always bittersweet. The air buzzes with positivity, inspiration, and camaraderie, but in the back of your mind, you know it may be another year before you see some of these friends, old and new. Sure, we always have the Internet, but there's something special about meeting in real life that can’t compare to flipping through a portfolio of sketches, laughing out loud with your peers, and supporting artists’ hard work right then and there.
There was rarely a moment when one of our seven kiosks wasn’t occupied by an artist. Young or old, newbie or professional, digital or traditional, the chance to sit down and create art was difficult to pass up with inspiration coming from every direction.

Comic-Con: Day 2Comic-Con Day 2 was all about cosplay, fandom, and art, art, art!
Before we get into the thick of things, we didn’t have a photo of our huge plasma screens hanging from the convention ceiling to share in our Day 1 recap, so we vowed to get that to you today! The 11 foot wide screens stream amazing works of art from Artists' Alley participants to the whole convention floor!

Comic-Con: Day 1San Diego Comic-Con Day 1 is winding down to such wee hours, some sticklers might call it “Technically A Few Moments Into Day 2.” But we live by the belief that new days don’t technically start until after you’ve fallen asleep, and all of the deviantART staff in attendance are still buzzing with energy after such an amazing first day on the convention floor.

New deviantWEAR Product Scavenger Hunt and Puzzle!

THE BEST THING EVER!

In the coming weeks, deviantWEAR will be releasing a brand new product. Not a shirt, not a hoodie, not even a keychain ... something brand new to the deviantWEAR Shop. Some might even call it the greatest deviantWEAR product ever released in the history of the world!

"Ok, what is it?" you might be asking. In true deviantART fashion we're going to make you sweat it out. Build the anticipation. And then, POW ... the best thing since sliced bread will be unleashed!

SCAVENGER HUNT + PUZZLE = SCUZZLE!

In order get everyone jazzed about this special release we've created what we're calling a 'scuzzle' game. A combination of a scavenger hunt and puzzle, a scuzzle is not for the faint of heart as it involves both searching for clues and puzzling them together.

HOW DO I PLAY?

Crafty Creative team members have taken a photo of our soon to be released awesome-tastic product and cut it up into twenty evenly-sized pieces. We then uploaded the pieces as Scraps to certain staff members' galleries. Once all twenty pieces have been found, they can be arranged (just like a puzzle) in such a manner that will provide a sneak-peek of our new product!

When you've puzzled all the scuzzle pieces in the correct order, you can use thumbnail codes to create a journal that will show off the seksey new product.

Please take note that five scuzzle pieces will be released per day. The game starts today and concludes on Thursday.

SOUNDS FUN! CAN I WIN ANYTHING?

Participants of this scuzzle game will be awarded various prizes at random. Anyone who leaves a comment in response to this news article will be eligible to win. Prizes include one month subscriptions, three month subscriptions, and we'll even be giving away one of our top secret new products!

A scuzzle is a combination of a scavenger hunt and puzzle. To play, search the galleries of staff members to find scuzzle pieces. Once you've found all twenty pieces, arrange them just like a puzzle. When you've arranged things correctly, post a journal about how awesome you are and let us know by commenting in the news article. Anyone who comments is eligible to win a prize (to be distributed via random drawing). Comments, questions, or suggestions should be posted below.
