A while back, we announced our partnership with Fotolia.com through the #StockProject group, where you can find hundreds of free stock images. We teamed up with Fotolia once again to create the deviantART Collection.

Recently, I announced changes to Daily Deviations in this journal and I'm happy to say that the response has been favorable.  To review, we have made the following changes:
a> The "3-month rule" is now the "6-month rule" meaning an artist cannot receive another DD if they have had one in the last 6 months.
b> Daily Deviation selectors are limited to a maximum of one selection per day.  This has been put in place to focus on quality vs quantity.
The hard-coding of these new guidelines is now in place (special thanks to $ZombieCoder for that :heart:).

Browse Through Journals in Your Message Center
When browsing through deviations in your Message Center, you can use the "Next" and "Previous" buttons to flip through artwork and use the "Remove From Messages" button to remove each of those deviations. Many people have been requesting that this feature be extended to Journals as well. We're happy to tell you that we just added this functionality!

Comment Counts Under Thumbnail Images
Two weeks ago, we released comment counts under thumbnail images to Beta Testers. Today, the feature has been rolled out to everyone. We believe that this feature adds more context to the experience of viewing artwork on deviantART.  You'll now find comment counts underneath the thumbnails of deviations -- they can be seen when browsing or searching art, and also display in your Message Center.  We hope this feature will help bring to light the fact

You're right :( 10.63 was my favorite for a long time and the newer ones have some "features" I wholeheartedly dislike. But it's not supported anymore, security-wise. :(

another good way if you cant afford virus protection is to use NOSCRIPT its an add-on to webbrowsers that STOP java script as well as flash files. They will only activate upon your request. No this isnt an advertisement for this product because well i hate that.. i just like it is all and hate freaking trojans/virus'/etc....

Avast Antivirus is free!

Between the Avast free edition, Mozilla AdBlock Plus, and Malwarebytes (all free), I haven't had a virus scare in a long time.

(the last one was that Fake Antivirus trojan from dA... when I was first introduced to MalwareBytes.)
