It's Valentine's Day and Fella wants you to be his valentine! Known to be an international man of mystery and intrigue, Fella has tamed wild llamas in Peru, explored King Tut's tomb in Egypt, and romanced the ladies in Paris. From afar, he leads the life that most only dream of. But after a recent trip to India for an introspective visit with the Dali Lama, Fella came to realize that something in his life was missing—YOU!

DeviantART is proud to present the Be Fella's Valentine Coloring Contest. With help from =betteo, one of dA's top-notch deviants, we've put together an old school coloring contest where the winner gets to lay claim on Fella's heart!

Participating Couldn't be Easier!

1. Download the template to the right and color it with any combination of solid colors using the paint bucket tool in your favorite image editing software (Photoshop, MS Paint, GIMP, and so on). Remember, the contest theme is to 'be Fella's valentine', so create something that expresses your love for Fella and deviantART.

2. Feel free to rotate the canvas in any direction you'd like to better suit your creativity (90º, 180º, 270º, etc.).

3. Use solid colors only. No shading, texturing, or gradients.

The contest will have two Grand Prize winners; one United States resident and one international resident! The winners will not only walk away with Fella's love and affection, but will also receive a special valentine-themed package sent directly from Fella!

Use of Valentine's Day theme, use of color palette, and ability to standout among other entries.

Holiday Card Project 2012
It's back! With the goal of bringing a little cheer to patients in the hospital during the holiday season, the deviantART Holiday Card Project connects deviants from around the world and applies their tremendous artistic abilities in designing and creating uplifting holiday cards.
In past years, the Project has received more than 5,000 cards sent in by more than 1,000 deviants from 50 different countries/political regions. Cards were then divvied up and distributed in-person by deviantART members to local Los Angeles, CA hospitals, with additional cards given to various hospitals in the U.S. and abroad for hospital staff members to hand out to patients.
The idea behind the Holiday Card Project is simple: do something nice for others. However, if you're looking for even more incentive, every deviant who submits a card will be given a free one-month Premium Membership to deviantA

Comic-Con: Day 3Saturday kicked off Day 3 of Comic-Con, and the crowds poured onto the convention floor to start the weekend in Geek Style.
At noon, deviantART hosted our final panel: How to Supercharge Your deviantART Profile Like the Masters. Moderated by none other than our fearless ninja, Angelo (aka +spyed), we were honored to have the following superstars share their deviantART experiences with the crowd:

August 7th, 2011 marks deviantART's 11th birthdAy, but in true devious style, we're taking a whole week to celebrate! Our original plans for Deviants Appreciation Day were so huge that there was no possible way to express our love for the community in a mere 24 hours. Instead, we've created Deviants Appreciation Week, and what better time to host a week's worth of community-oriented events than in the days leading up to our birthdAy?

Comic-Con: Day 4On Sunday, the 4th and final day of San Diego Comic-Con, we were able to keep the love flowing to show the artists and art enthusiasts who came by our booth just how much they meant to us.
The last day of Comic-Con is always bittersweet. The air buzzes with positivity, inspiration, and camaraderie, but in the back of your mind, you know it may be another year before you see some of these friends, old and new. Sure, we always have the Internet, but there's something special about meeting in real life that can’t compare to flipping through a portfolio of sketches, laughing out loud with your peers, and supporting artists’ hard work right then and there.
There was rarely a moment when one of our seven kiosks wasn’t occupied by an artist. Young or old, newbie or professional, digital or traditional, the chance to sit down and create art was difficult to pass up with inspiration coming from every direction.

Comic-Con: Day 1San Diego Comic-Con Day 1 is winding down to such wee hours, some sticklers might call it “Technically A Few Moments Into Day 2.” But we live by the belief that new days don’t technically start until after you’ve fallen asleep, and all of the deviantART staff in attendance are still buzzing with energy after such an amazing first day on the convention floor.

Maybe the judges are trying to throw us off with the pieces they have fav'd. x)

And patience. We are all eager, I can imagine. But I'm sure the wait will be worth it. I for one, would rather have them take their time to pick the right winners who deserve it, than having them rush it and just pick the ones on the first page of all the submissions *nod*
