Weeeeeeeee ...

$spyed and I have been World Tour-ing for roughly 26 days now. I'm happy to report that even though we're together pretty much 24/7, neither one of us has tried to push the other in front of an oncoming taxi. Though, there was the time when we were awake for nearly 30 hours straight, flew from Warsaw to Istanbul, and then found out there was a problem with our hotel -- that made us a bit grumpy.

We probably get along so well because we're constantly laughing at things -- things that might not be funny to others, but we crack ourselves up.

For example, I present: "yalniz tehlike ..."



Neither Angelo or I know Turkish, but that doesn't stop us from trying to read signs or figure out what things mean. On our plane ride from Istanbul to Ankara, where $spyed's Grandfather lives, I noticed that the emergency exit read "tehlike" and thought, "Haha! The emergency exit sign is trying to speak Interweb! Silly sign." (Remember, I said we crack ourselves up.) I then noticed the sign had "yalniz" written in front of "tehlike". When trying to read the sign, I sounded out the words and they came out as "yall-neez teh-like" which my brain interpreted as "y'all needs to like ..." -- and a new meme was born.

$spyed and I quickly began to add "yalniz tehlike ..." to the beginning of every sentence.

"Yalniz tehlike calm down!"
"Yalniz tehlike land this plane right now."
"Yalniz tehlike keep it real."
"Yalniz tehlike recognize."
"Yalniz tehlike do it live!"

In response to our wobbly plane and rough landing, the best usage at the time was probably, "Yalniz tehlike keep it steady!".

P.S. - To anyone who has recently sent me a note, I apologize! I absolutely read them all and do my best to respond in a timely manner, but with the World Tour I've received and influx of messages and it's taking me longer to respond than normal.
