So much to say! Let's do it live! ...
- Australia, I love you.
$
spyed and I had such an excellent time in Sydney. As I've said, we couldn't have picked a better place to start the Tour. Everyone was so warm, welcoming, and friendly. You've set the bar high for all future Tour stops. Well played, well played.
- The Manly Beach FarewellMEET was an epic win.
The =
SydneySyders were kind enough to help us arrange a second Sydney deviantMEET before we left Australia and it brought out some old friends as well as some new faces. I think there were about 40 of us and it felt pretty intimate, which was nice because it allowed for great conversation.
There were tons of cameras at both the first Opera House meet and the second Manly Beach meet. I've been spending lots of time looking through galleries and reading journals. If anyone who attended the meets has photos to show off or journals to be read, please leave me a comment so that I can check things out! Everything I've seen thus far has been so full of so much win.
- Singapore, why so srs about gum?
It's probably safe to say the first thing any new visitor to Singapore notices is that the country is immaculate. There is no trash to be found anywhere.
Anywhere. I can see for miles from my hotel window, but what I cannot see is one, single piece of trash or errant paper. Not one. Stop and imagine that for a moment. You're looking out over a city and not seeing anything that resembles trash. That's pretty amazing.

For that reason, I can understand why gum is outlawed. On the other hand, I really love me some Trident Wild Blueberry Twist, as can be evidenced in the following photo from Saturday's Sydney FarewellMEET.
- Bringing the heat.
Hai Singapore! Let me state the obvious and say that it's hot here. (Shocker, I know.) Hot, rainy, and humid. When I look out the window and see pouring rain, every part of my brain wants to grab a jacket before I head outside, probably because my Mom ingrained it in my head since I was little. (Hi Mom!) Of course, when it rains in California it's almost always cold. However, wearing a jacket outside here seems like it could be fatal.
- Scoping it out.
$
spyed and I spent the latter half of today with =
Timothy-Sim, who was kind enough to give us a tour of the city. Thanks to his help, we've picked a great deviantMEET location for Singapore.
Location: Singapore, Singapore
When: Thursday, May 21st @ 4:00 PM
Where: Meet at Merlion Park next to the Merlion statue

Merlion Park offers everything we need for a successful meet ... a great place for a group to gather, places to hang out rain or shine, excellent photo opportunities, and nearby (free!) wireless access. For additional details, please visit

- Le cry.
Continuing with what seems like could turn into tradition, I had McDonald's for lunch. This is the point when my Grandpa would say that I'll soon turn into a french fry. My food was great (as great as McDonald's can be); however, the cashier and fellow co-worker totally laughed at me for some reason ... and not in a good way. LOL. The sad thing is, I don't even know why. Maybe it was because I ordered a Happy Meal?
- Not le cry.
In happier food news, =
Timothy-Sim had Angelo and I sample some local cuisine at Glutton's Bay. I highly recommend the seafood fried rice and chicken rice, but the whole meal was delicious.

That's all for now. The end.
~Heidi
P.S. - Happy birthday, Spunky!
