Still Down Under! ...

Things in Australia have been awesometastic. $spyed and I spent various parts of the last 24 hours hanging out with $hb, *sentrixx, =gimmyfood, and ~AB-Photography, and the real fun doesn't even start until Wednesday.

It's always good to put a face to the name, especially when it's someone you work with, so getting to meet $hb in person was great. Because he lives in the Sydney area and knows the local eateries, $hb recommended a German restuarant that was within walking distance from our hotel.

I have to say, it was a quite a trip to think that in the span of a handful of hours I went from being in the United States, to being in Australia, to eating at an authentic German restaurant with waiters wearing lederhosen and a live band playing Do-Re-Mi (with beer drinking patrons singing along). It's no wonder that when I woke up last night, it took my brain a good five seconds to remember where I was. ($liquisoft, I told you it would happen! I just didn't expect it to be on night two.)

After recovering a bit from jet lag, $spyed and I started off today by hanging out with *sentrixx who was kind enough to drive us to Bondi Beach where we grabbed lunch (even if it did take him a few tries to find his car in the parking garage -- zing!). It was a nice to get out of 'downtown Sydney', which is my own term for the area we've frequented most. Meeting fellow deviants who are passionate about the site always makes $spyed and I happy because we end up geeking out and talking for hours, and *sentrixx really knows him some dA.



After lunch, the three of us headed back to downtown Sydney where we met =gimmyfood and ~AB-Photography, who are the co-founders of =SydneySyders. $spyed then proceeded to give a Groups demo and blew everyone away in the process. As people who currently run a group, =gimmyfood and ~AB-Photography were super impressed with the functionality they saw in the new Groups system (which is a great feeling for us).

Big, big thanks to *sentrixx, =gimmyfood, and ~AB-Photography for taking the time to hang out with us. $spyed and I had a blast and each of you couldn't be better representations of our 'lil community. Stay deviant and thanks again!

P.S. - To all my friends back at the office, 'Homeless Spider-Man' has a cousin in Sydney. I even took a photo with him.

P.P.S. - Right now, I'm totally wearing a shirt with a kangaroo on it. Trufax.
